Convolute Finishing Wheels
ex vat
Convolute wheels are made for applying fine finishes to metal such as stainless steel and brushed aluminium.
Convolute wheels are used to put fine finishes on metal. They work particularly well on stainless steel and hard alloys to which they can add considerable value by removing surface coatings and scratches and applying beautiful satin finishes, They are the wheel of choice for premium fitting such as stainless steel door handles, yacht fitments and taps. They are also used for engineering finishes in aerospace and and other industries using hard alloys. Typically, they are used on stationary rotating shaft machines and held with clamping flanges. We thus offer them with standard 25.4mm (1") or 76mm (3") centres. The 150mm diameter wheels in 6 and 13mm widths can, also be used on the Finiteasy machine.
Grade SA 1 wheels give the finest satin finishes. These wheels are also firmer and denser and are best for de-burring hard alloys.
Grade SA 2 wheels are slightly softer and more conformable. They will remove surface contaminants such as weld blueing and leave a fine brushed finish. They are especially good at brush finishing aluminium alloy components.
Grade SA 3 wheels are softer still and are thus more conformable to work on profiles. They will de-burr most metals and leave a satin finish.
Grade SA 4 wheels are the softest and most conformable. They give the coarsest finish. They would thus clean surfaces with minimal material removal and leave a brushed finish.
Specification:
- Made with non-woven abrasive re-processed, convolute rolled and sliced into wheels.
- Available in grades 1 (hard, dense, finest finish) to 3 (softer, more conformable, satin finish).
- For use on rotating shaft machines where the work-piece can be safety applied.
- Plastic core insert for shaft or flange mounting.
- Uni-directional (marked on wheel).
